Review of Via

Published by under Uncategorized

We finally made it to Via this week and it was nice treat. The greatest thing about Via is it’s atmosphere. We sat outside on the terrace. They have a row of couch and table set-ups that were vey comfortable and relaxing. For the price, the food was good not great, though we would definately make a return trip. Once again, for Via, it’s all about the atmosphere.

Shrewsbury Street in Worcester is getting a great makeover. There are restuarants popping up all over and most of them have out door seating.

Published by under Uncategorized

I am adding a picture of the last place we ate outside. This is on Fort Myers Beach, it will do for the middle of February. Now April is here. It was 70 degrees the other day, the first time since October 23rd. Spring is almost here and time to move outdoors.dsc02051.jpg

Tales from the Fireplace

Published by under Uncategorized

As I sit here, it’s 6 degrees outside. This winter already has driven me a bit crazy. So lets change things. We are stuck living inside for the moment, lets try and find the places with the best fireplaces. It’s all about staying warm. Next month we will be making our yearly trip to Fort Myers, and soon will be again eating outside. Pincher’s here we come! Until then, lets find a good fireplace.

What is Wrong With John Stone’s?

Published by under Uncategorized

John Stone’s in Ashland used to be one of my favorite places. They have a great outdoor section with big tables and umbrellas. They used to have a great beer selection. If you stuck with the burgers and sandwiches, their food was pretty good. NO MORE! Now, the food is worse, the beer is flat, and it’s more expensive. I don’t think I will be visiting for awhile. I suggest to go across the street to Catch 22. At least the beer is good and you can still sit outside.

Published by under The Where, Uncategorized

Ok. I saw this in Worcester. It looks awesome! This looks like home work for the tftt.com people. Worcester is a cool little city that is trying hard. The many colleges and diversity give it a cool flavor. Oh, by the way this place is called VIA. It’s located on Shrewsbury Street. You can find info here: http://www.viaitaliantable.com/. I hope they don’t mind me using their picture. I will let you know how it is.

Waltham, Massachusetts. Have you seen it lately? I counted at least 2 places to sit outside and enjoy a nice dinner or cocktail. There is also a Tapas place that looks likeĀ it was moved from Newbury Street. Here is a picture from Margarita’s. It has a great view of the river Charles.

Why aren’t we more like the Europeans?

Published by under The Why

What is with America. Are we a country that moves too fast? Do we not care about relaxation or taking a few minutes a day to watch the world go by. Go to any city in Europe (and probably other parts of the world) and the streets are filled with cafes. Big ones, small ones, on every corner, on every block, there is a establishement with tables, chairs, and umbrellas. They are in the big cities and small towns. Go down any street in America’s big cities or small towns, nothing. Why!?! Someone please tell me.
